The purpose of affirmations is to help us focus on our goals and keep them proximate.   Also by keeping our goals proximate, we reduce the stress associated with the mundane tasks  required to achieve them.
No matter what your goals are in respect to the Internet, each of us need affirmations, hence, the purpose of this page.

Affirmation for the week ending January 25, 1998 ...

The next time I read or hear a news report about some unfortunate incident a fellow netter encountered I will take a deep breath and remember:
  • It is my responsibility as a parent to monitor my child's Internet activity.
  • I wouldn't give the remote control to my child and allow him/her complete access to all cable channels, so why would I do anything differently in terms of the Internet?
  • My browser and other third party software can aid me in making certain my child will not come in contact with any site I deem unacceptable.
  • I can best monitor my family's usage of the web by making the Internet and the home computer a family endeavor.  This way communication in the home and online is ALWAYS open!

  • Next week's affirmations will continue to address the "negativity" associated with the Internet and the NEW technology.... Stay Tuned and BREATHE!
