The purpose of affirmations is to help us focus on our goals and keep them proximateAlso by keeping our goals proximate, we reduce the stress associated with the mundane tasks  required to achieve them.
No matter what your goals are in respect to the Internet, each of us need affirmations, hence, the purpose of this page.

Affirmation for the week ending February 22, 1998 ...

My family, friends, and loved ones are concerned about me spending so much time with my computer.  The next time I'm affected by their frustration I will breathe and remember to:
  • Involve them with what I'm doing on the computer and online.
  • Explain that I appreciate their concern, and assure them there is nothing to worry about.
  • Consider their concern and take a moment to reflect on the reasons for their concern.  Am I neglecting them or their interests?  Am I being selfish with my time?
  • Take a break from the computer and make it a point to spend quality time with my friends, family and loved ones.
  • Purchase or locate a program that the entire family can participate in.
  • Building a family web page is always a fun project to stimulate interest from other family members.
  • Monitor the amount of time I'm spending.  Computers and, in particular, the Internet is very addictive.  I do not want to neglect anything or anyone which is important to my well-being.
Go ahead, take a few more DEEP BREATHS... You deserve them!
